Privacy Policy
Last updated — July 2026
Text you submit for scanning is not stored. It is processed solely to generate your detection result and is discarded immediately after — it is never retained on our servers, never linked to your identity, and never used to build a profile of you or your writing. This is a foundational design decision, not a policy we can quietly change without updating this document.
Information We Collect
We collect the minimum necessary to operate the service and prevent abuse. Specifically:
- Text submitted for scanning. The text you paste or type into the detector is transmitted to our servers to perform the analysis. It is processed in transit and in memory only — it is not written to a database, not retained after the scan completes, and not associated with any identifier that could link it back to you.
- IP address. Recorded transiently for rate-limiting and abuse prevention (e.g. blocking automated scraping). We do not build per-user histories from IP data.
- Browser type and general usage data. Standard technical signals sent by your browser — such as browser version, operating system, and page interactions — collected via analytics tooling. This data is used in aggregate to understand how the tool is used and where it can be improved. It is not used to identify you individually.
We do not operate user accounts, so we do not collect names, email addresses, or any registration information unless you contact us directly.
How We Use Information
- Generating your scan result. Submitted text is passed to our detection model and the result is returned to you. Processing is transient — the text is not persisted at any point in this flow.
- Improving detection accuracy. We may use aggregate, anonymised signals — such as usage volume and general accuracy metrics — to inform model improvements. No individual text submissions are used for this purpose.
- Security and abuse prevention. IP addresses and usage patterns are monitored to detect and block automated abuse, protect service availability, and comply with applicable law.
Data Retention
Submitted text is not retained after a scan completes. There is no stored history of what you have checked.
Anonymised, aggregated analytics data — which cannot be traced to an individual — may be retained for an indefinite period for product improvement purposes.
Transient technical logs (including IP addresses used for abuse prevention) are retained for a limited period consistent with security practices and then deleted.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies for basic analytics — to understand aggregate traffic patterns and how the tool is used. These cookies do not track you across other websites and are not used for advertising.
We do not use ad-tracking cookies. We do not participate in third-party ad networks. No cookie data is shared with advertisers.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not prevent you from using the detector.
Third-Party Services
We use standard web analytics tools to collect the aggregate usage data described above. These services process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy terms. We do not grant them access to submitted text.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for commercial or advertising purposes. We do not use data brokers.
If we are required by law to disclose data, we will do so only to the extent required and, where legally permitted, will notify affected users.
Children’s Privacy
This service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Your Rights
Because we do not operate accounts and do not retain submitted text, there is very little data associated with you by design. For the limited technical data we do hold (such as transient logs), you may contact us to ask what information is held and request its deletion where applicable.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights regarding personal data under applicable privacy law (including GDPR, CCPA, and similar frameworks). We will respond to legitimate requests within a reasonable timeframe.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy — particularly to our core data-handling commitments — we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We will not silently weaken the protections described here.
Continued use of the service after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
